DRIVE-IN PALLET RACKING

Drive-In racking is very ideal for high-density storage. It is frequently used in facilities with a low number of product lines. Pallets are stored in a block system with two blocks generally served by one operating aisle. It provides high-density and better cubic utilization storage. This is due to fewer aisles required which allows 75% more pallets stored in the same space.

Lift trucks drive into the rack to extract the first pallet they come to. This is "Last-In, First-Out" storage. It will enter the racking to load or retrieve pallets, which are stored on cantilevered rails running throughout the system. This is done because pallets can slide backwards on a continuous rail. Forklifts can drive into the rack to access pallets two or more deep.
Double Entry Racks - lift trucks can enter from both sides or a row of racks. The center of the rack row is stabilized by a beam.

Single Entry Racks - lift trucks can enter the rack from only one side.

When should we specify Drive-In Racks?

  • We've installed Drive-In and Drive-Through Racks in a number of cold storage applications, due to the need to store as many pallets as possible in as little expensive freezer space as possible.

  • When you have seasonal items that move quickly out of your inventory.
  • When you have a large amount of similar items that can be stored in a single pallet position and accessed last-in, first-out
  • If you don't store a wide variety of loads in the rack.

Benefits of Drive-In

  • Maximum Space Utilization
  • No aisles needed between rows of rack
  • High density storage can be achieved in a relatively small space
  • This style of racking is extremely cost effective, as there are very few components. There is also no need for expensive specialised handling equipment to use this system.

  • Drive-In is "first in last out" (great for seasonal moving items)

Drive-in pallet racks are efficient racking in storing the goods in a effective way and these types of racks are used in a large amount of similar items be stored. Also, it requires forklift to load and unload storage goods onto the racks. Drive-in Rack.
